Anyone who lives alone and manifests no longing to be in a relationship is in our times almost automatically viewed as pitiable. Moreover, they think that it is simply not possible to be at once alone and normal. This set us up for collective catastrophe, because it means that a huge number of people who have no wish to live with anyone else.Even worse, they are under press and pressure, then they are shamed into conjugal life(婚姻生活).No doubt that they are with disastrous results for all involved. Only once singlehood has completely equal prestige with its alternative can we ensure that people will be free in their choices. And hence, they can join couples for the right reasons because they love another person ,rather than because they are terrified of remaining single.

Romantic love is a dangerous illusion.

We should recognize that romantic love, the idea of being deeply enamored with one special partner over a whole lifetime is a very new, ambitious and really pretty odd concept. From close-up ,over periods of time ,almost everyone is condemned to be pretty dispiriting and difficult.A good romantic marriage is evidently theoretically possible. It may also be extremely unlikely in practice.,which should make any failure feel a good deal less shameful.

No one thinks their partner is terrific after a while.

Those among us who chose to stay single shouldn’t be thought unromantic.Indeed ,we may be among the very most romantic of all, because it is in the end the fervent romantics who should be especially careful of ending up in boring relationships.

We aren’t sane enough to be in relationships.

Though it is a sign of some maturity to know how to love and live alongside someone, it is actually a sign of even greater to recognize that this is something that one isn’t in the end gotta be psychologically really capable of,as a good portion of us simply aren’t.In that cases, we retire ourselves voluntarily ,in order to save others from the terrible consequences ,or it is called bad ending.

Being alone means not inflicting yourself on others.

However, being alone means not inflicting ourselves on others. It spares us from constant reminders of how difficult and strange we are!No one is there to hold a mirror up-record your antics and constantly make you accountable for them. If you ‘re lucky, you will be able to tolerate and even like yourself if you are on your own.

You are my today and all of my tomorrows.

They tell you in school that it’s the lungs that keep you breathing but it’s your heart.

And it’s as if I never really even knew love until right now, in this moment, with you.

Ask me to define my love for you and I’ll say it’s captured in every beautiful memory of our past, detailed out in the vivid visions of our dreams, and future plans, but most of all it’s right now, in the moment where everything I’ve ever wanted in my life is standing right in front of me and smiling.

I really don’t know how many more love stories I have left in me, but I want you to be my last.

There are going to be days where you’re undone, stressed out, tired, spent. And I’ll still love you just as much in those moments as I ever have, maybe even a little more, because it’ll mean you let me get close enough to know the real you. That’s all I want.

I swear I couldn’t love you more than I do right now, and yet I know I will tomorrow.

Sweetheart,

My thoughts are deep into you

From the moment that I wake up

And to the whole day through

Happy Valentine's Day

If I could save time in a bottle

the first thing that I'd like to do is to save every day until eternity passes away

just to spend them with you

if I could make days last forever

if words could make wishes come true

I'd save every day like a treasure and then

again I would spend them with you

Without you, I'd be a soul without a purpose.

Without you, I'd be an emotion without a heart.

I'm a face without expression, A heart with no beat.

Without you by my side, I'm just a flame without the heat.

没有你 我将是一个没有目的灵魂;

没有你 我的情感将没有了根基;我将是一张没有表情的脸;一颗停止跳动的心;

It’s INCREDIBLE!!!。”

Although southern Maya areas received more rainfall than northern areas, problems of water were paradoxically more severe in the wet south. While that made things hard for ancient Maya living in the south, it has also made things hard for modern archaeologists who have difficulty understanding why ancient droughts caused bigger problems in the wet south than in the dry north.

The word “paradoxically”in the passage is closest in meaning to ?

○usually

○surprisingly

○understandably

○predictably

Paragraph 3: Climatic changes at the end of the glacial period 13,000 years ago have been proposed to account for the emergence of farming. The temperature increased dramatically in a short period of time (years rather than centuries), allowing for a growth of the hunting-gathering population due to the abundance of resources. There were, however, fluctuations in the climatic conditions, with the consequences that wet conditions were followed by dry ones, so that the availability of plants and animals oscillated brusquely.

According to paragraph 3, the abundance of resources fluctuated sharply after the end of the glacial period because?

A.Locally abundant resources were quicklyexhausted by hunter-gatherers.

B.The temperature became much higher in someareas over others.

C.Different types of plants and animals became available as the climate changed.

D.The amount of rainfall varied radically from one period to the next.

首先,题目中关键词——the abundance of resources, fluctuated, because。
